WHO DO WE SEE AND WHO DO WE REMEMBER? This work was inspired by old family photographs of unidentified relatives who left the Jim Crow South. I felt an accountability and existential bond that motivated me to close the time and space between myself and these ancestors. I kept asking myself what determines who we see and who we remember?
